Rosé Hill early ripening with a depth of colour, suited to the English climate and grown on the estate since 2005.
Tasting notes: Waitrose Trophy for Best English Still Rosé A full flavoured rosé, rich in colour, which benefits from the English cool climate. A vibrant nose of summer fruits leads to a palate bursting with punnets of strawberries and raspberries, a hint of toffee apple and a persistent cassis finish.
Excellent aperitif • White meat • Salads Composition: Blend of Dornfelder and Pinot Noir from Denbies Vineyard.
Winemaking: The individual red grape varieties were gently pressed to achieve an elegant pink hue. Cool fermented at 15oC, the ferment was stopped before completion by refrigeration, in order to capture some of the natural sweetness in the grapes. Technical information: 12% vol 75cl Residual Sugar 6.5 g/l
Fruit sourced from the lower slopes, with its sandy limestone and perfect for elegant, refreshing wines. Vineyard: With harvesting taking place in September and October, this ensures that the vineyard can fully benefit from the early autumn sun. Winemaking: Very clear juice, fermented at a low temperature to obtain maximum fruit characteristics from the grapes. The residual sugar level of the wine means that it is medium-dry in style.
